Note that dry malt extract will differ from liquid malt extract in its sugar content when diluted weight for weight:
….. 1 lb of DME dissolved in 1 gal. of water = 1.045 SG.
….. 1 lb of LME dissolved in 1 gal. of water = 1.035 SG.
For reference: 10 lb grain to create 6 gal. wort, boiled to 5 gal. = 1.050 SG. (assuming a 70% efficiency)
Dried Malt Extract-Light (0201) is made from barley malt, barley, water and enzyme, then through screening, decrustation, milling, saccharification, filtration, evaporation, vacuum drying and packaging. It is rich in nutrition and widely used in all kinds of food.
Appearance: Light yellow, powder.
Odor and Flavor: Pleasant and characteristic malt flavor, slightly sweet.
